Ray: Well, now. It appears that I am expected to introduce myself.
Me: That'd be correct.
Ray: Fine. I, dear Hadhafang, am Ray, sometimes known as Cephas. I am one of Novel's characters from her book The Family Secret -- the antagonist. Although I fail to see why I am cast as the villain.
Me: Do you really want to get into that now? You kill people!
Ray: You kill off characters and laugh about it.
Me: ...
Ray: That's what I thought. Shut up and let me finish introducing myself.
Me: No, let me. Ray's a bad guy, stay away from him. We've already lost JL, don't let us lose you, too! Stay away!
Ray: If I didn't live in your head, I'd leave. Just so you know.
Me: *Hugs Ray* I DIDN'T MEAN IT! DON'T LEAVE!
Ray: So you really don't hate me. I knew it!
Me: *mutters* NoIdon'thateyou.
Ray: A-ha! I knew it!

Novel, I really think you are a genius and I know how you feel right now. Internal conflicts are much nicer when on paper and not raging inside your head. Wink

Hello Ray, nice to finally meet you. I must say, I've always loved the antagonist more than the protagonist, so no worries, right now you're on my 'good' list! Smile

Me: Whoo! I'm a genius!
Ray: And I'm on Hadhafang's 'good' list.
Me: Other than that, it's a good day today, innit?
Ray: Would it really kill you to go an hour without insulting me?
Me: Yep. It would. But you know I love ya. I love all my characters. Most of the time. Wink

Characters are like relatives. Can't live with or without them. Just have to put up with them. And love them, [most of the time]

Yay! I really enjoy talking with you [and your characters] so far. Smile Being friends with writers is always a mercy. This is how it usually goes with my other friends:

Me: *sob*
Friends: What's wrong with you?
Me: I hit a BLOCK. Sad
Friends: ... right... uh, we're going out to lunch... you can join us if your car wasn't damaged too badly from the hit...
Me: *thinking* Hit my car...? Question

Aha! Ditto, ditto, ditto! The only other person around here that knows what I'm talking about is my English teacher. And he's my archenemy on bad days and my rival on good days. Even on perfect days I wouldn't sit down with him and talk shop. No, no, no. That's why the Draft is so amazing. Wink

Astra: Ugh. I can't stand your English teacher.
Me: Join the club.
Tammy: There's a club? Do we get hats?
Me: Nope, but here's a button.
Tammy: Whee! Razz
Me: You'll have to excuse her. She's a bit neurotic.
Ari: That's my twin for you...
Astra: At least you get along with your twin all the time. Mine gets on my nerves.
Ari: I don't get along with her all the time.
Me: Off topic, people. Off topic.

Oy. My whole life is dedicated to my characters. I think they lead bigger lives than I do -- I live in my head, and they actually do stuff! Hahahaha. Laughing

Hm.. let me get this straight:

Ari, you and Tammy are twins or you and Astra?

Sorry Novel, I'm a little slow when it comes to names... Smile
I will get them all though! Before my hundredth post!

... oh and, uh... do you think I could have a button?

Haha, have a button. Razz

Okay, Ari and Tammy are twins from my story The Family Secret (FS for short). Ray is also in FS.
Astra's twin is Valerian, and they are the main characters in The Surface of the Deep (or tSotD for short). Don't feel bad, I get things mixed up half of the time, too...and then there's all of the characters that you haven't even met yet.

And people wonder why I get so many headaches...ahaha. Wink

Wow, how do you come up with such great names? Remind me to contact you when I'm in a name-pinch. <3

How far are you in each novel? And could I possibly get a brief summary? Or is it still exclusively-novel's brain-only?

Names! I love names! I have Behindthename.com bookmarked. And I love helping others come up with names. PM me if you need help with that. Smile

Nah, it's not exclusive. Smile I actually have about 5 projects in the works right now, but I can only really work on one at a time...
Anyway, the projects are:

The Family Secret -- My baby and my first "serious" project. It's about a girl named Arianna (Ari for short) who is forced by an ancient pact to be turned into a vampire. She's always looked forward to it, but the reality is a lot different than what you see in the movies. I'm going to start the second draft when I finish revisions on tSotD.

The Surface of the Deep (aka tSotD)-- My NaNoWriMo '08 novel! Right now I'm in revisions. I sent out a few queries, but I'm stepping back from that for now. Basically, it centers around twins Valerian and Astra, who were raised on Earth by a woman that they believe is their aunt. But then they find out that, hey, she's not their aunt -- she's a woman in the resistance movement against the king of their home country! Which is on another planet! And Valerian and Astra, who apparently are very, very powerful, are key pieces in the revolution.

The Enigma -- I wrote the first draft in February, and I'll get back around to it eventually. Basically, it's about what happens when you mess around with the Spirit Realm and tick off a bunch of ghosts. It gets you tied up with Death and Lucifer. Yeah. Fun, fun.

Opal's Legacy -- I've been outlining on this one. It's nothing serious. Anyway, it's about a girl named Joy whose mother was murdered two years before the story takes place. Joy's mother, Opal, taught she and her friends all about music and helped them form their band, which they call Opal's Legacy. Joy's father is getting remarried, and Joy has to deal with it. Eh. It's a work in progress.

In Their Blood -- It's another vampire story...but this one has vampire HUNTERS as the protagonists. Muwahaha. I'm outlining right now.

Wow. I didn't even realize I was working on this much...I keep popping back and forth between them. My main project right now is tSotD, though, like I said. There's more info on most of these projects on my website, if you want to go look. The address is www.jenniferwhite.webs.com. (SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT! Haha.)

Heehee. I like you, Hadhafang. You let me prattle on about my projects! I love it when people let me do that! Razz

Oh hey, I had a character in a short named Ari once [although her full name was Ariadne]

I hope once day you become one of the best vampire-writers. This world needs an abundance of GOOD Vamp. lit.

Unfortunately, the only good vamp. book I've read is... well... nothing. I can't seem to be appeased by anything. I started reading Interview with the Vampire last summer, and enjoyed it, but unfortunately I only got 1/4 through it.

And I love BehindtheName! I use it all the time!

And don't worry about the prattling, I actually like listening to people talk nonstop. It helps to get me thinking. And plotting. Which eventually leads to... writing! Yay!
So just think of your rambling as a favor to me Wink

Woot woot!

I don't think I ever finished Interview...although I LOVED The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned. Have you read the Anita Blake books? Those are pretty awesome.
Heehee...my mom found a piece of FaceBook flair earlier that said "Vampires used to rock...but then one sparkled." It made us laugh so hard. xD And I have a shirt that says "And then Buffy staked Edward. The end."
Don't get me wrong, Twilight was okay, but I totally prefer the fang-and-coffin version.
Anywho...
